An Appeal On the Ground of Humanity.
Venerable Bhikkhus, Friends & Well Wishers, In inviting the subject cited above, I, on behalf of the THE ULTIMATE TRUTH PREACHING MISSION, ( a socio-religious organization ) have the honour to state that the SHANTI NIKETAN BOUDDHA VIHARA was established in the year 1968 by a local Managing Committee with a very temporary structure. The village Tuichawng is located in south west corner of Mizoram India near Indo-Bangladesh Border. Most of the villagers are CHAKMA in tribe and BUDDHIST by religion. About 400 families live at Tuichawng and surrounding villages. The total population is around 2800 who live on shifting cultivation. Due to inavailability of fertile land in the locality, they can not produce enough crops for their livelihood. So, they live a miserable life just hand to mouth. Being poor, our people can not contribute fund to develop the Buddhist monastery. During last twenty five years, it was anyhow constructed with sown timber structure with GCI sheet roofing in 1996. Now it has become very old. The villagers are trying to re-build it with concrete structure. An small amount has already been gathered which is not enough. It has become very difficult to gather more fund.
Therefore, I, on behalf of the Buddhist people of this locality, do appeal your organization to look into the matter sympathetically and come forward to provide us financial assistance for the further development and construction of the Buddhist Monastery mentioned above and as well as to give us suggestion in decreasing the CONVERSION  to other religion in our region. For the act of  your kindness, we shall remain ever grateful to you.
With Metta and loving kindness.

This is where the next generation of citizens will learn about their country, culture, and skills to succeed in life.  It is essential that in addition to buddhism and technical tools to succeed in this life, they are also taught how to succeed both in this life and next on the basis of Sila, Samadhi, and Pannna.

May all of you be happy, peaceful, and liberated.  May your highest wholesome aspirations be fulfilled and may all beings partake in the merits of this work."

  2. It is aptly said by Aristotle that “the roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet” - and I came to learn this eternal truth from an early age.

If the darkness of ignorance is to be dispelled then the sun of education has to rise. So many children are born talented, have immense capacity for understanding and are naturally bright - but poverty has deprived them of an education.

I have long been concerned for underprivileged children, especially those who are unable to access education due to lack of resources or poverty.

Myself and a small team wanted to make a difference in our area so we started a school in our village called Tuichawng in Lunglei Dist, Mizoram, India.

Chakma people are buddhist by birth but we're quiet unfortunate as we still swimming in the ocean of tears whereas others are flying in the sky.

So, I have started working in the field of education and Buddhism Developmental activities at the very young age when i was just 19 years.

I felt the children will need education to develop this community in order to communicate with other children across the world.

Above all, I am happy with my accomplishments and am grateful to my friends from different countries. Without their support and encouragement, it would not have been possible to achieve these goals.

Let's stand together to educate the Chakma community.
